The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently traveling to the Fernie two Neighborhood Hall in Mpuluzi to render solutions on the community.

SASSA will likely be rendering providers such as new social grant applications, change of payment method, customer care enquiries, together with the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a press release, the agency stated it is alarmed about the high quantity of people depending on social grants for survival.
“The intention in the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme sassa status [ICROP] is to reach-out into a high amount of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This is certainly due to lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no completely functional office committed to service the area regularly. The assistance stage designed for intervention encounters a high inflow of possible beneficiaries, that makes it tricky for the Workplace to attend to all people who stop by a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise extra methods to permit the servicing of all consumers and boost usage of Social Assistance products and status sassa services,” the agency said.
